Blessing of St Basil Bread - 12/31/21

Every New Years Eve, it is customary to bless the St Basil bread after Vespers. The bread is then distributed to the faithful. A silver coin, or two, are baked into the bread, and whoever receives the slice with the coin is said to receive the blessing of Saint Basil for the coming year.
